HourStory Support

HourStory is a private, two-person journal. You and one paired partner capture small moments — a photo, a short video, a voice note, a few words — throughout the day, and see each other's day unfold hour by hour. There is no public feed, no stranger discovery, and no advertising.

Every account has a unique invite code. Share yours with your partner (or enter theirs) and you're paired. You can only be paired with one person at a time, and they must not already be paired with someone else.

Yes — HourStory is free to use, with limited access to certain features (such as a capped number of videos and edits). Premium plans unlock everything, and newly paired couples can try all premium features free for 14 days with the Honeymoon trial.

HourStory is available on iOS and Android, downloadable from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

A Snap is a moment you capture — a photo, short video, voice note, or text entry — tied to a specific hour of your day. Your partner sees your Snaps on an hourly timeline, lined up with your local time even if you're in different time zones.

Snaps marked as Private are visible only to you — never to your partner, regardless of pairing status. Use it for entries you want to keep just for yourself.

Only you and your paired partner — no one else. There is no public feed, explore page, or search that surfaces your content to anyone outside your pair, and our backend security rules enforce this at the database level.

You can unpair at any time from Settings. Your partner immediately loses access to your future content. Previously shared Snaps and the shared chat thread are only fully removed if either of you deletes your account.

Newly paired couples can start a 14-day full-feature trial called Honeymoon. It requires no payment method, only begins when you explicitly tap Start, automatically ends after 14 days, and never charges you anything. It can be started once per pairing.

Yearly at $49.99/year (auto-renewing), Monthly at $8.99/month (auto-renewing), and Lifetime at $99.99 as a one-time purchase. Actual prices are set by the App Store or Google Play for your region and currency.

Yes. If one partner in a pair has an active paid subscription, both accounts receive premium access for as long as the pairing and the subscription remain active.

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google, not by HourStory directly. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Google Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

All purchases are subject to the refund policies of the App Store or Google Play, as applicable. We do not process refunds directly — request a refund through Apple or Google.

If you allow notifications, we notify you when your partner captures a Snap, reacts to one of yours, or sends a message. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.

App Lock lets you protect HourStory with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system — HourStory never receives, transmits, or stores your biometric data.

Make sure notifications are enabled for HourStory in your device settings. If they are and the problem persists, try signing out and back in to refresh your notification token, or email us for help.

Only what's needed to run the app: your account info (name, email), the content you create, pairing data, your time-zone offset, a push-notification token, and your subscription status. We collect no location data, no advertising identifiers, no contacts, and we run no analytics SDKs. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

No. We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, never use it to train third-party AI models, and there are no ads in the app.

Go to Settings → Delete Account in the app. This immediately and permanently deletes every Snap you created (including stored media), your profile, and your shared chat thread, and unpairs you from your partner. This action cannot be undone.
